How do I schedule an appointment?
You may schedule an appointment by calling or texting our office at 516-522-0656 or by emailing elana@danielsplacecfh.com. All clients receive a free consultation prior to scheduling their first session.
Why can't I schedule my appointment without a consultation?
We believe that everyone in need of a safe space to heal should have access to one. We also know that psychotherapy is NOT a 'one size fits all' service, which is one of the reasons why we provide a free consultation before scheduling your first session at Daniel's Place. If Daniel's Place is not determined to be the most effective psychotherapy practice to suit your needs, we will do our best to provide you with the right referral for you so that you can start your healing journey ASAP!
Do you take my insurance?
We accept Medicare insurance and are licensed to provide out of network mental health services.
For those with out of network mental health benefits, Daniel’s Place supplies an emailed statement (also called a Superbill) for clients to submit to their insurance providers for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to make sure your policy includes out-of-network coverage for counseling services. For more information regarding pricing and insurance coverage, please visit our Fees and Donations page.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We know that sometimes life happens! If you need to cancel your appointment, you may do so at no cost to you 48 hours or more in advance of your session. During your consultation, you will be invited to access your confidential, HIPAA compliant client portal and to review our informed consent form carefully for our complete cancellation and attendance policy.
Are my sessions confidential?
Yes. Your sessions, whether at our office location or using our HIPAA compliant video interface, are completely confidential. Please review our Notice of Privacy Practices through your client portal for our complete privacy and confidentiality policies.
Does seeing a therapist mean there's something seriously wrong with me? Shouldn't I be able to handle it all on my own?
Absolutely not (to both!). Seeing a therapist means that you’ve noticed aspects of yourself that you may like to examine or change, and you have the self-love, courage, and commitment to invest in yourself!
