Elana Friedman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Elana graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Masters of Social Work degree from New York University and has since worked as a primary therapist providing individual, couples, family and group therapy for a full caseload of diverse clients at community mental health clinics in New York City. Her clients have struggled with depression and anxiety as a result of trauma, as well as adjustment difficulties involving parenting, aging, young adult issues, and relationship difficulties.

While working as a psychotherapist, Elana discovered that a large majority of her clients had a history of traumatic experiences that heavily influenced both the quality of their mental health as well as their social relationships. As a result, Elana pursued a post-graduate specialization in the treatment of trauma in order to most effectively and expertly impact her clients, and to help her clients live fully, instead of simply just 'surviving'.

Elana founded Daniel's Place Center For Healing to honor her brother's legacy in order to provide a safe space in which her clients could feel cared for and supported within a professional, therapeutic environment. She’s passionate about serving clients with empathy, humor and warmth while empowering clients to heal their emotional pain and meet their personal goals.

When she isn’t in session, Elana can be found enjoying quality time with her family at home, walking her Goldendoodle puppy, Copper, and practicing her yoga skills to achieve her own sense of inner peace.
